「根本看不到，只能用手摸」來自中共海軍3大艦隊180名潛水員與50名蛙人，自2日中午起，無縫接替下水搜救。潛水員說，船艙整個進水、物品顛倒無序，他們只能以一天只睡兩個小時趕進度排查船艙，部分潛水員體力已到極限。

中共海軍現場副總指揮董炎表示，海軍潛水員已對沉船的一半船艙進行了摸排。目前水下搜救的難度有兩點：一是艙內的桌椅、床鋪顛倒無序，一片狼藉，有的甚至堵住門口；二是有些艙門被反鎖，無法打開。已經查過的艙室，則以螢光筆作記號。

參與打撈的陳興利說，越往下水流速度越快，艙室雜物包括門窗的損壞，易掛纏潛水員氧氣管及纜繩，河沙淤積很嚴重，一旦沉船下沉撞擊河床，河底淤泥就會整個泛起來，能見度很差，「就不是說看了，只能用手摸。」
